ks_final_side2013A West Coast gal through and through. Raised in Portland, the birthplace of curbside recycling, way before Portlandia became its own adjective for awkward, cool. After college in Seattle, Kimberly built her PR career in

San Francisco. After a decade of working in PR for both large and small brands, in-house and agency side, Kimberly launched her lifestyle public relations firm in 2008 when she moved to Austin, Texas.

Serving the markets for premium specialty brands in the areas of food, fashion, beauty + home, Kimberly Strenk PR is not your typical agency. The company specializes in “brand building public relations” for companies that don’t necessarily have the big marketing budgets. How to win in this competitive landscape without traditional marketing and advertising?

They represent companies whose products and services are unique, that meet a genuine market need, and have leadership that is relentlessly focused on the customer. When these factors are in place, brand building PR wins the day.

Kimberly Strenk has built her namesake firm’s reputation for launching and growing truly unique, authentic consumer brands such as Tints of Nature a professional, salon quality organic and natural hair brand for at-home use, bambeco, an eco home and decor company, Bella Pictures, national wedding and video photography, Beanitos, the first all natural bean based chip, and Key Ingredient, the first digital cookbook for every day chefs.

Prior to her move, Kimberly was the director of public relations for emerging brands at Williams Sonoma, Inc.  Kimberly was responsible for the successful multi-channel launch of the Williams Sonoma Home brand, the re-launch of an older category, holdeverything into a lifestyle brand, and the continued growth of young brand, west elm.  Kimberly came to Williams Sonoma after tenure with several lifestyle brands, including one of retail’s most beloved and iconic consumer brands, Nordstrom, Inc.

When she is not working, Kimberly is busy keeping up with her 3 school age daughters, spending time with her awesome husband and friends, and enjoying the music and food scene that is uniquely Austin.

  1. Hi Kimberly!

We haven’t met, but I’d like to introduce myself as a new colleague (hopefully!) in the world of Creative Austin. I am a fellow small business owner as the Founder and Creative Director of h.creative, a boutique design studio specializing in branding, fashion, and lifestyle via graphic design, illustration, and apparel. I work with clients to grow their brands by providing logos, collateral, websites, magazine ads, etc. I also have a background in fashion, which has helped me launch a niche cashmere business here in town called Dept. of Culture. In addition to working with individual businesses, I also collaborate with a fellow boutique PR firm in Dallas, serving her client list and their creative design needs. I came across your company while searching Austin for like-minded PR firms, because it is this type of relationship that’s my favorite – we’ve grown together and learned how the other thinks, falling into a consistent, efficient pattern (that benefits her clients and my portfolio) based on understanding what the other needs and wants. So, I am reaching out to you in hopes of starting a conversation about a similar, new professional friendship. Let’s talk!

    Have a lovely afternoon!

    Hillary Weber-Gale
